TEHRAN (Tasnim) Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler Saeid Esmaeili snatched a gold medal at the 2025 World Wrestling Championships on Sunday.
- Sports news -He edged past Azerbaijans Hasrat Jafarov 2-1 in 67kg final bout.
Esmaeili started the campaign with a 9-0 win over Serbias Sebastian Na in Round of 32. He then defeated Uzbekistans Shermukhammad Sharibjanov 8-0 in Round of 16, Norways Hvard Jrgensen 8-0 in quarterfinals and Daniial Agaev (UWW) 10-0 in semifinals.
The bronze medals were won by Daniial Agaev (UWW) and Slavik Galstyan (ARM).
The 2025 World Wrestling Championships are being held in Zagreb, Croatia from September 13 to 21.
