TEHRAN (Tasnim) The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that any new act of aggression or miscalculation by enemies -particularly Israel or the US- will face a decisive, crushing and regret-inducing response.

In a statement marking the Sacred Defense Week, the IRGC said the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic, inspired by the lessons and achievements of the Sacred Defense and by the guidance of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, have, on a scale comparable to world wars, reached an effective level of self-sufficiency, deterrence, and combat readiness -- the manifestations of which everyone witnessed during the 12-day war in June.

The experiences of the first and second Sacred Defenses haveshown that effective deterrence is the product of permanent readiness, creativity in designing strategy, tactics and operations in battle with enemies, and the continuous development of technologies and advanced defense and military systems in all fields, the statement added.

On this basis, the process of empowering the Armed Forces in various areas will not stop, and if any new miscalculation or aggression by the enemy occurs, the Islamic Republic of Iran will hold the initiative on the battlefield and will give another lethal and instructive response to it, the IRGC warned.

The IRGC cautioned that any mistake by the enemies -especially the fake and criminal Zionist regime and the arrogant and deceitful government of the US- against the interests, national security, or territorial domain of the Islamic Republic will be met with a decisive, crushing, timely and regret-inducing reaction by the Armed Forces and the powerful defenders of the homeland.

Comprehensive combat readiness, strategic prudence, people-based security, intelligence capability, land, sea and air defense, missile and cyber defense, and unfailing support for the Resistance are at the highest level of readiness and prepared for counteraction, the statement added.

On June 13, the Zionist regime launched an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran, targeting military, nuclear, and residential areas for 12 consecutive days. The United States later escalated the conflict by striking three of Irans nuclear sites in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan on June 22.

Irans Armed Forces delivered an immediate and forceful response. The IRGC Aerospace Force carried out 22 waves of retaliatory missile strikes under Operation True Promise III, inflicting significant damage and heavy losses on cities across the occupied territories.

In retaliation for the US attacks, Iranian forces also targeted al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar the largest American military installation in West Asia with a barrage of missiles.

The confrontation came to an end on June 24, when a ceasefire was enforced.
