Putin to Visit Tehran Soon: Irans Ambassador to Russia

TEHRAN (Tasnim) Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to visit Tehran in the near future as part of efforts aimed at deepening strategic ties between Russia and Iran, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali said on Thursday.

Jalali told the RIA Novosti news agency that bilateral relations have advanced to a strategic level, marked by increasing high-level visits between officials of both countries.

We will soon witness the Russian presidents visit to Tehran, Jalali said.

In late January 2025, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian visited Moscow and signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement with Putin at the Kremlin.

On Thursday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia is prepared to contribute to resolving Irans nuclear issue.

Outlining Moscows positions on relations with Iran, nuclear talks, and recent conversations between Putin and US President Donald Trump, Peskov stated,We have a close partnership with Iran.

The strategic agreement signed in January 2025 has further strengthened cooperation between the two countries. Tehran has since become one of Russias key partners.

Commenting on the nuclear file, Peskov said,Russia, including President Putin personally, is willing to participate in resolving the Iranian nuclear issue if necessary.

He also referred to a recent phone call between Putin and Trump, noting,Putin told Trump that, given Russias partnership with Iran, he is ready to help resolve the nuclear issue.
