- Approval on the #economy fell from 38% in March to 30% in April
- Overall job approval now stands at 33%, also down from last month
- Approval on handling #Iran remains low at 32%
The poll was conducted during a volatile period marked by the Iran conflict, including rapid changes around the Strait of Hormuz. Rising gas prices, ongoing tariffs, and slowing hiring have added to economic uncertainty, even as the Trump administration continues to promote a "golden age" narrative.
The decline in confidence extends beyond the general public, with Republican support also softening.
