The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on Thursday strongly condemned drone attacks on its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic launched from Iranian territory, calling the strikes a "violation of the norms and principles of international law."

The attacks took place at around midday on Thursday. One drone struck the terminal building at Nakhchivan International Airport, injuring two civilians and causing structural damage, while another drone fell near a school in the village of Shakarabad, the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry said the actions would escalate regional tensions and directly contradict the principles of international law.
