PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran's Ambassador to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani, speaking at the "Hayk-Iran-Millennia-Old Neighborhood" international conference in Yerevan, characterized Armenia-Iran relations as "geopolitical, geoeconomic, and geocultural."

He emphasized that developments in Armenia, Iran, and the Caucasus region are interconnected, noting that recent events in Armenia's Syunik Province directly affect Iran's national interests. Sobhani stated, "Iran considers any change in international borders as its red line." He underscored the mutual security concerns, highlighting that despite the relatively short length of their shared border, it remains one of the most secure among Iran's neighbors. He added, "We have never felt threats from Armenia, nor has Armenia felt threats from us."

Furthermore, Sobhani mentioned that Iran views Armenia not merely as a market of three million consumers but as a gateway to the 200-million-strong Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) market.
