During the telephone conversation, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot expressed concern over rising tensions, emphasizing the importance of maintaining dialogue and returning to a diplomatic path.

Araqchi, for his part, rejected the European move to trigger the so-called snapback mechanism of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) at the UN Security Council, stressing that it lacks any political or legal legitimacy and only fuels further tension and crisis.

Reaffirming the exclusively peaceful nature of Irans nuclear program, Araqchi referred to the countrys recent agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He emphasized that Iran has always considered diplomacy as the sole means to resolve international issues, including its nuclear file, and stands ready for any fair and balanced solution that secures mutual interests.

The two ministers also reviewed the state of bilateral relations, including consular issues, and agreed on the need to maintain dialogue and continue consultations.
