TEHRAN -- Iran's Health Ministry reported 13,321 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, raising the total nationwide infections to 962,070.
The pandemic has so far claimed 48,246 lives in Iran, up by 371 in the past 24 hours, said Sima Sadat Lari, spokeswoman for the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education, during her daily briefing. (Iran-COVID19)

CAIRO -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on Monday stressed that the Palestinian cause will remain a priority in the Egyptian policies, the presidency said in a statement.

BAGHDAD -- The Iraqi Health Ministry reported on Monday 2,114 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total nationwide infections to 552,549.
It also reported 34 new deaths and 1,771 more recovered cases in the country, raising the death toll from the infectious virus to 12,258 and the total recoveries to 482,674. (Iraq-COVID19)

ANKARA -- Turkish security forces killed four members of Syria's Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) as they "attempted to infiltrate" into Turkey's cross-border operation zone in northern Syria, the Turkish defense ministry said Monday.
"Four PKK/YPG terrorists, who attempted to infiltrate the Operation Peace Spring area to disturb the peace and security environment, were neutralized by the successful intervention of our hero commandos," the ministry said on Twitter. (Turkey-Northern Syria-Kurdish Fighters)
