Major Iraq military assault timed for early August
The Iran News.Net Wednesday 23rd July, 2008
A military assault in Iraq’s Diyala province, timed for August 1st, will involve around 30,000 Iraqi soldiers and policemen.
Diyala province is the bastion of Al-Qaeda fighters in Iraq.
Iraqi military officials have leaked the news that the soldiers and police personnel will take part in the crackdown.
The officials have said the operation will be led by the Iraqi army with some support from the US.
Iraq's interior ministry spokesman Major General Abdul Karim Khalaf announced a week ago that the Iraqi military would launch an assault in Diyala but did not specify the date.

How stupid can you get? Telling the enemy when you are coming to the party! What, do they think the enemy is going to think “oh, they are coming...let’s run away”. How silly. The enemy is skilled and fanatical. This is quite an advance notice for them.
